Most privacy policies begin with what a company takes. This one begins with what a player controls, because in LineQuest the controls come first and the collection is deliberately small enough to fit around them.
Controls Available Inside the Game
The options screen of LineQuest lets you switch cloud saving on or off, clear the local progress file and start over, turn analytics reporting off where your region requires that choice to be offered, and view the installation identifier that any request to us must quote. Nothing in that screen is hidden behind a menu you have to hunt for.
Controls Available in Your System Settings
Your operating system holds controls that override anything the game can do. Resetting or limiting the advertising identifier changes what an advertising network can see. Denying a permission prompt stops the associated access outright. Removing LineQuest deletes the local progress file with it. We honour these settings without exception, and we do not attempt to work around a choice made there.
Requests You Can Make to Us
Depending on the law where you live, you may be entitled to:
- ask what information is associated with your installation
- receive a copy of it in a portable format
- have an inaccuracy corrected
- have the record erased
- restrict or object to a particular use
- withdraw a consent, with effect from the moment of withdrawal
Requests go through the official support channels. Because LineQuest never learns your name, the installation identifier from the options screen is the only means of locating your record, and a request without it usually cannot be fulfilled. We answer within the period the applicable law sets, and we do not charge for a first request or treat you differently for having made one.
Only Then: What Exists to Be Requested
The record associated with an installation is short. It holds the quests completed and those still open, the routes and move counts recorded on each attempt, the balance of keys, hints, or coins, the options you have chosen, and the timestamp of the last session. Alongside it sits a technical description of the device — model, operating system version, LineQuest build, screen size, language, region, and connection type — which the game reads so that the board renders correctly and performs acceptably.
Crash and Performance Records
When LineQuest stops unexpectedly, a report of the failure is generated: where in the program the fault occurred, the operations leading up to it, memory in use, and the time. Reports of this kind are read by engineers to reproduce the fault. They are cleared once the defect behind them is closed.
Anything You Send Us
Support correspondence is entirely voluntary. What we receive is what you send — the address you write from, your description of the issue, screenshots you attach, and a purchase reference where the question concerns a transaction. It is used to resolve your issue and is cleared afterwards.
The Uses We Make of It
Progress and options exist to resume play. Technical descriptions exist for compatibility and performance. Crash reports exist for defect repair. Aggregate figures exist so we can see which quest is abandoned too often and rebalance it. Purchase confirmations exist so an item can be delivered and a refund enquiry checked. Integrity checks exist so a modified client cannot post an impossible score. There is no seventh use.
Who Else Is Involved
Analytics, crash monitoring, advertisement delivery where advertisements are shown, and store distribution are performed by outside companies. Each is given only the fields its task requires, uses them under our instruction, and operates under its own privacy terms. None of them is permitted to sell what it receives, and we do not sell anything ourselves.
Purchases
Optional content in LineQuest is sold through the marketplace that supplied the app. Payment credentials are entered there and never reach us. We receive a confirmation and a receipt reference, which is enough to grant the item and to look into a later refund question.
Protection and Retention
Information in transit is encrypted; information at rest sits behind access controls limited to staff with an operational need. Progress persists while the game is installed; crash reports end with their defect; analytics are folded into totals that cannot be traced back to one installation; purchase records follow the retention period tax rules impose; support threads end with the issue. No networked system is beyond compromise, and we describe our measures as reasonable rather than perfect.
Younger Players
LineQuest is made for a general audience and is not directed at children under thirteen, and we do not knowingly gather personal information from them. A parent or guardian who believes otherwise should contact official support so the material can be found and removed.
Cross-Border Handling
Our systems and those of our providers may sit in a country other than yours. Where information crosses a border, we rely on the transfer mechanisms recognised in the jurisdiction that applies to you, and the protections described in this policy travel with the information regardless of where it is processed.
Updates
This policy changes when the game changes, when a provider changes, or when the law changes. The published version on our official channels is always the operative one, and material changes take effect when published.
